A knit cowl in bubble stitch, worked straight, with a join that throws the color off balance and gives the fabric its drape. Two yarns share the work: a steady blue-gray and a gradient that moves from rust through brick to warm olive. Partway up they trade jobs, so the piece reads differently at each end. The shape is a triangle with its ends joined, so it goes over your head like a cowl and still hangs in a point down the front.
Designed by Lori Wagner for the Harvest Hues issue of Knotions, inspired by the colors and bustle of Art in the Park in her hometown of Boulder City, Nevada.
